Prudence

Prudence llives with her family in her uncle’s house because floods destroyed their own home. Despite their many challenges, including both parents lacking stable jobs, her uncle has generously hosted the whole family, allowing them to live peacefully.

Prudence is bright, intelligent, and creative, with a knack for solving puzzles. She enjoys studying books her parents could afford to keep her engaged and help her retain school knowledge. Her favorite subjects are social studies, science, and English. A lover of the Bible, Prudence spends time reading it to uplift her spirit whenever home situations become overwhelming.

Her best friend is a great support, especially with schoolwork, constantly encouraging Prudence that everything will be okay and that she will return to school full-time to achieve her dreams. They share a love for cats, enjoy dancing, and cherish each other’s company, helping Prudence stay hopeful and less lonely.

Prudence’s compassionate nature drives her ambition to become a doctor. She wants to help those in need of medical assistance, believing that getting a sponsor will guarantee her a proper education which is the key to achieving this goal. Despite current challenges, she remains hopeful about her future and is determined to attend school full-time.

Princess

Princess lives with her family, which includes her mother, father, and two elder brothers in their modest home. Her mother works as a casual laborer, to provide food for the family. Her father, unable to find employment nearby, works as a security guard in a different county. The family’s combined earnings are insufficient to cover all their needs, often forcing difficult choices between paying rent and buying food.

Despite these hardships, Princess remains hopeful and dedicated to her education. She cherishes the few books her parents have bought her and uses them to study at home, holding on to the hope that one day she will be able to attend school full-time. Princess particularly enjoys studying English and Kiswahili and speaks both languages well for her age.

At home, she helps her mother with house chores and has developed a fondness for cooking. She can prepare basic meals, with chapatti and meat being her favorite. Princess also loves playing with her best friend and other neighborhood children, often engaging in games like hide and seek.

An artistic and creative soul, Princess is captivated by the color purple, which she frequently uses in her drawings. She finds joy in listening to music and dancing, learning new moves from her school’s dance team, even though she is not a member yet. Getting a sponsor will allow her to fulfill her dreams.

She dreams of becoming a doctor when she grows up, driven by a desire to help others in need. She understands the value of education and knows it is the key to achieving her goals. Princess’s story is one of resilience and unwavering hope, a testament to her strong spirit and determination to overcome the challenges she faces.
