2025: A year of growth and momentum

Thanks to you and our global community of supporters, 2025 was a year of inspiring hope and sparking brighter futures. As our 2025 Outcomes Report shows, your generosity is changing lives.

Because of you, we began 2026 by onboarding 100 new students and have already welcomed the first 50 children in January, with another 50 onboarding in April. Thanks to you and hundreds of supporters, last December, you helped make this possible by giving $293,589. Thank you.

Our team in Kenya wanted to say thank you personally. We invite you to watch this short message of gratitude from the staff and students — the very ones your support impacts.

Program Highlight

Every Saturday, students spend the day engaging in fun activities, sharing laughter, and enjoying a delicious meal. Moments like these remind us of the power of community and the impact of education and support. Each Saturday is an opportunity for our students to learn, play, and thrive. Take a moment to enjoy watching kids being kids.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day from our students at Ngong Road Children’s Foundation (NRCF). They have a unique perspective on Valentine’s Day. While many see a “big red heart,” our children see something much more practical.

Love is…

  • Books to read and a chance to learn.
  • A safe place to play with friends.
  • People like you who support them every single day.

Through their hand-drawn cards and bright smiles, our students reminded us that love is a verb. It is the action of showing up, providing an education, and building a future together.

Thank You for Your Support

Your generosity is what makes moments like these possible. Because of you, our students don’t just talk about love—they experience it through the resources and community you provide.

Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at NRCF. We love you!

Mildred, An Aspiring Pediatrician

My name is Mildred. I am 15 years old, and my hobby is drawing because it’s an escape from reality, where imagination comes to life. It’s a way to express emotions, pay attention to detail, and find solace in solitude. My favorite sports are volleyball and football.

aspiring pediatrician

I am in Form 1 studying at Kijabe Girls High School. I am currently the class monitor and my work is to maintain order, communicate with teachers, and represent the class. My favorite subjects are Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. because they are fascinated by the natural world and how it works. Exploring biology, chemistry, and physics can provide a deep understanding of the universe, from the smallest cells to the vast cosmos.

I aspire to be a pediatrician because, ever since I was little, I’ve been fascinated by doctors and how they help people get better. I especially love seeing kids smile and feel better after a visit to the doctor. I want to be a pediatrician to help kids grow healthy and happy, just like my role model, Dr. Benjamin Spock. I’ll be able to teach their parents how to keep them safe and healthy,

I’ve always dreamed of visiting Thailand. The country’s rich culture, stunning beaches, and delicious cuisine have captivated me for years. I’m particularly drawn to the ancient temples and historical sites, which offer a glimpse into Thailand’s fascinating past.

By supporting Ngong Road Children’s Foundation, you’re not just helping an individual; you’re investing in a future leader who will make a positive impact on the world.

Life as a Student – Lunch & Learn – Part 2

Join the Zoom

Scroll to the bottom to RSVP.

Join Us Wednesday, Oct 12 11:30am (Central)

We heard your positive feedback about our educational event last month and want to continue to offer sponsors and donors the opportunity to enhance their experience and bond with their students by learning more about their day-to-day lives. This educational event will continue our series on “Life as a Student” in our program.

This Lunch and Learn will focus on what it’s like to be a student in Kenya. You will learn in more detail about the primary and secondary schools with whom we work, what attending school in the slums is like, and how schools compare with those in the U.S. We will also share how post-secondary education is conducted in Kenya and how vastly different the experience is than college in the States.

Life for our students living in the slum

Last month we hosted our first educational event which went into detail about living in the slum of Dagoretti. We learned where our students live geographically and heard firsthand stories from sponsors who have visited Dagoretti about what the slum is like. For those of you who missed the last event, click here to watch the recording.

We know sponsors and donors enjoy learning more about how our students live and how their support is making a life-changing difference to our students!

RSVP now or come back and click the button on our Events page at the start of the event.

See you then!

Asante Sana (Thank You) to LuminFire

We extend a sincere thank you to the LuminFire team for their integral role in launching our amazing new website! Our goal was to create a mobile-friendly, photo-rich site that helps us tell our stories and is easy to maintain. Nick, Michael, and Marty helped us find just the right platform and design–we couldn’t be more excited about it.  You guys truly do create brilliant solutions. Thank you for all your efforts and for being so generous with your time. There’s more to come too–one feature under development that we plan to launch this fall is a login for sponsors that provides access to pictures, assessments, and news about their students. Check out our new website today and stay tuned for more! (and if you ever need help with your own technology, check out LuminFire!)
